Grass

This piece was completed to depict the grass of the land during the creation.

Genesis 1:11-12 "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good."

Earth Three

Earth Two

Earth One

This is the first of a trio of paintings done a different style than I normally do and is also different than the style of the rest of the series. I think it's important sometimes to branch out and experiment in order to help yourself grow. I'm pleased with the depth of layers and think that that can be pushed even more. The following two posts are the other paintings in the trio. This piece is currently on exhibit at the Central Utah Arts Center for their Fourth Annual Utah Juried Show until April the 23rd.

Genesis 1:10 "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good."

Dry Land

This piece is representative of the dry land appearing during the creation. It was the first completed in the series. I'm working out of order, but it seems to a good way for me to work.
This painting was also on exhibit for the 2008 Salt Lake City Community College Presidents Show.

Genesis 1:9 "And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so."
